The ICT Macro Indicator is a powerful tool designed to enhance your trading experience by clearly and efficiently plotting the known ICT Macro Times directly on your chart. Based on the teachings of the Inner Circle Trader, these time windows correspond to periods when the Interbank Price Delivery Algorithm (IPDA) undergoes a series of checks and is highly probable to move towards liquidity. By providing a clean and clutter-free representation, this indicator empowers traders to make informed decisions and build robust time-based strategies.
2. Logic
The indicator dynamically references New York local time to highlight exact macro windows throughout the trading day. During an active macro, the underlying logic continuously tracks price action to update key Premium and Discount (P/D) components in real-time. This includes identifying the ongoing macro's Open, High, Low, Consequent Encroachment (Midpoint), and precise Quadrants. It also features built-in tracking for MTF (Multiple Time-Frame) Macros, helping traders easily identify periods where open and close times from various higher timeframes overlap, revealing higher-probability confluences.
3. Settings & Options
3.1 General Settings
Macro Line Display: Toggle the visibility of the primary macro bounds. Customize the line styles, widths, and colors to match your chart theme.
Projections: Enable forward projections to clearly visualize exactly where macros begin and end without difficulty.
Labels & Time Toggle: Show or hide custom macro labels. Opt to display the exact time intervals alongside the label, and adjust the text size, style, and color.
Hide Non-Macro Bars: Filter out market noise by dimming or hiding all price action that occurs outside of macro timeframes, leaving only the active macro periods visible.
Display Mode: Choose between "On Chart" to visualize timeframes directly over your price action, or "New Pane" to move the indicator into a dedicated, clutter-free lower section that can be easily collapsed.
3.2 Macro P/D (Premium & Discount) Settings
P/D Lines (Open, H/L, C.E., Quadrants): Individually plot the Macro Open, High/Low bounds, Consequent Encroachment (C.E.), and Quadrants. Select projection lengths (20min, 40min, or 60min) to suit your analytical style.
P/D Background Boxes: Visually highlight the Premium and Discount halves of the macro range using customizable background colors.
Level Labels: Append precise text labels to your P/D lines (O, H, L, CE, Q) with adjustable sizes and formatting settings.
Tooltip On-Hover: Gain valuable insights simply by hovering over plotted macros and levels to reveal interactive tooltips detailing the specific level name and exact price data.
3.3 Macro Toggles & Customization
Hourly Macros: Individually toggle every specific hourly macro on or off throughout the 24-hour cycle (e.g., 00:50 - 01:10, 09:50 - 10:10).
Custom Labeling: Rename any specific macro (e.g., tagging a window as "MTF-8|4|2|1") to aid your live tracking and analysis.
Last Hour NY PM Macros: Dedicated toggles for late NY session setups, including the crucial 15:15 - 15:45 window.
